An ultra-thin surface light source device comprises an LED light source (10) and a light guide plate (20). The LED light source (10) comprises a light-emitting chip (11). The LED light source (10) is disposed opposite to an incident-light side (21) of the light guide plate (20). A polarizing component (30), which is parallel to the light guide plate (20) and is used for projecting light emitted by the light-emitting chip (11) toward the light guide plate (20), is disposed between the light-emitting chip (11) and the light guide plate (20). Light emitted by the LED light source (10) is well controlled to deflect within a certain angle range and, without having to increase the thickness of the light guide plate (20), all of the light is incident on the light guide plate (20) through the incident-light side (21), which improves the light utilization rate and helps to further thin the light guide plate (20) and the surface light source device; in addition, a horn-shaped opening in the incident-light side (21) of the light guide plate (20) does not need to be provided, which simplifies the manufacturing process of the light guide plate and helps to decrease the cost. |
