PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection optical device that suppresses dust from flowing into the inside of a projection optics housing through a gap between a light-transmitting plate and the projection optics housing, and a projector including the projection optical device.SOLUTION: A projection optical device 5 having a dioptric system and a catoptric system includes a projection optics housing 51 and a light-transmitting plate 56 that transmits projection light. The projection optics housing 51 includes a light-transmitting plate holding part 55 (having an opening 551 allowing the projection light to pass therethrough and a holder 552 for setting the light-transmitting plate 56). An elastic intervening member 57 (first intervening member 571 and a second intervening member 572) is set between the light-transmitting plate 56 and the holder 552, dividing the holder 552 to cover the entire circumference thereof. The first intervening member 571 is set on the holder 552 or on a side 562 of the light-transmitting plate 56, and the second intervening member 572 is set on an outer circumference end face 561 of the light-transmitting plate 56. The intervening member 57 is held on the light-transmitting plate holding part 55 while being pressed by the light-transmitting plate 56.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 |
