PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding door device capable of simplifying a structure of an upper guide rail, restraining trouble, and reducing a frequency of maintenance, by reducing a load such as impact received to the upper guide rail, by reducing generation of noise and vibration by relieving the impact caused by opening-closing, by reducing force required for opening-closing a sliding door. SOLUTION: This sliding door device can horizontally move the sliding door supported by the upper guide rail between an opening position opposed to a wall adjacent to an opening part and a closing position for blocking up the opening part slid in the going in and out direction of the opening part from a position opposed to the opening part. The sliding door device is composed of the sliding door, the opening part, an adjacent wall part opposite to the sliding door of the opening position adjacently to this opening part, and the upper guide rail horizontally and continuously arranged over the adjacent wall part from an upper part of the opening part, and supporting the sliding door. The adjacent wall part is composed of a main wall part, and an edge wall part continuing with this main wall part, and arranged on the opening part side.
