PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve high print productivity with a simple construction without increasing the size of a paper feeder.SOLUTION: A paper feeder comprises: a paper stacking part 10 capable of stacking a plurality of paper sheets; paper separation/feeding means 20 for separating paper sheets stacked in the paper stacking part 10 one by one and feeding them in one direction; conveying means 30 for further conveying the paper sheet which has been fed by the paper separation/feeding means 20 in one direction; a first driving source for driving the paper separation/feeding means 20; a second driving source for driving the conveying means 30; clutch means for turning on and off the connection between the first driving source and the paper separation/feeding means 20; and control means. The control means selectively executes a first control of turning on the clutch means while the first driving source is operated and a second control of starting the first driving source while the clutch means is turned on.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
