The aim of the invention is to improve the design of a flexible material for radiation protective clothing comprising at least two layers or films of a preferably thermoplastic elastomer, to which absorption material is added for attenuating the rays of an X-ray tube, whereby when increasing the degree of attenuation (lead content) and simultaneously reducing the weight per unit area, the flexible material has a uniform and good ray absorption for X-ray radiation in the extended range of the X-ray tube voltage from 50 kV to 150 kV. To this end, an absorption material that is a soft absorption material is provided in the first layer/film facing the radiation source, and an absorption material that is a hard absorption material is provided in the last layer/film, which is near the body and which faces the individual to be protected. In particular, when absorption materials are added to an additional layer/film situated between the first layer/film, which is near the radiation source, and the last layer/film that is near the body, these absorption materials have an (absorption) hardness between that of the layer/film that lies against the layer/film, which is near the radiation source, and that of the last layer/film situated near the body. |
