<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing a rare-earth magnet in which a diffusion element, e.g. Dy, can be diffused efficiently from the surface to the interior. <P>SOLUTION: The method of producing a rare-earth magnet includes an adhesion step for making a diffusion element, capable of being diffused to the interior, adhere to the surface of a magnet material composed of a molding or a sintered compact of rare-earth alloy particles, and an evaporation step for evaporating at least a part of the diffusion element that is retained on the surface of the magnet material by heating the magnet material in a vacuum. The adhesion step is a vapor deposition step and, preferably, the evaporation step is a heating step for heating only the magnet material in a vacuum following to the vapor deposition step. According to this production method, coersive-force of a rare-earth magnet can be enhanced while limiting the usage of rare Dy, or the like. In other words, a rare-earth magnet having a significantly high coersive-force efficiency can be obtained according to the invention. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
