PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To present a musical piece suited to current environmental noise to a user. SOLUTION: If the user operates an operator for instructing the presentation of a musical piece category corresponding to environmental noise, the environmental noise is picked up through a microphone 3 to categorize the current environmental noise based on the characteristic quantity of the picked-up environmental noise. The categorization result of the current environmental noise is then displayed on a display unit 4. Further, multiple candidates for the musical piece categories for a musical piece recorded in advance onto a recording medium 18 are selected in accordance with the categorization result of the current environmental noise and are displayed on the display unit 4. The user selects a predetermined musical piece category from among the candidates for musical piece categories displayed on the display unit 4 by operation for an operation unit 5 to reproduce corresponding musical piece data.
