This signal processing device is provided with: a connection detecting unit which detects the connection or non-connection of an endoscope containing one or more operating members; a signal selecting unit which selects an operation status signal input from the endoscope, if connection of the endoscope has been detected, and selects an operation status signal input from an external input device containing one or more operating members corresponding to the one or more operating members of the endoscope, if non-connection of the endoscope has been detected; an allocation information storage unit which stores allocation information of actions relating to the operating members; an action indication setting unit which sets an action indication corresponding to the operation status signal selected by the signal selecting unit, on the basis of the operation status signal selected by the signal selecting unit, and the allocation information; and an action executing unit which executes actions corresponding to the action indications set by the action indication setting unit. |
