PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable both of the tilling operation and the ridging-up operation without replacing normal and reverse tilling claws of same rotary tiller. SOLUTION: The walking type tiller is equipped with a changeover operation part for changing over a rotary shaft (41) protruded to left and light both sides of the lower part of a transmission case (40) of a rotary tilling device (17) to normal rotation or reverse rotation. A tilling claw (54) for normal and reverse rotation in which the top side is curved in the direction separate from the side of central transmission case (4) from the mounting base part toward the top side and the cross section is formed so that the driving side advances along the plane which is approximately perpendicular to shaft center of the rotary shaft (41) and the subsequent side gradually approaches the transmission case (40) when the rotary shaft (41) is normally rotated is attached to the rotary shaft (41) or connecting shafts (51) integrally interlocked with the rotary shaft (41) and connected to the rotary shaft (41).
