PROCESS FOR PRODUCING MICROPOROUS POLYMERIC OBJECT, MICROPOROUS POLYMERIC OBJECT, AND SEPARATION MEMBRANE

A process for producing a microporous polymeric object. Compared to conventional processes, the process can improve the degree of freedom concerning various properties of the microporous object to be obtained. A block copolymer which is constituted of three or more kinds of segments, one or more of the segments being made up of monomer units having a first functional group capable of forming an ionic bond and/or hydrogen bond and which, upon phase separation based on incompatibility among the segments, forms a co-continuous structure in which regions consisting of the respective segments are successively present independently of one another is mixed with a polymer having, in a position other than the polymer chain terminals, a second functional group forming an ionic bond and/or hydrogen bond with the first functional group to thereby associate the one or more segments with the polymer at many sites and form, due to the phase separation, a co-continuous structure including regions composed of the polymer and the segments associated therewith. The bond between the first and second functional groups is weakened, and the polymer is then removed from the regions.
