The present invention provides a method for receiving/sending a paging message and a corresponding network node/user equipment. The method comprises: receiving an indication of a physical resource block set used to send a paging message, an index of the physical resource block set in a subframe being determined according to the level of the paging message; and receiving the paging message on the indicated physical resource block set. According to the technical solution, a paging message transmission mechanism for a coverage enhanced MTC user equipment and/or a low-complexity or low-cost MTC user equipment can be provided.
