The present invention is a fixed abrasive article (10) for grinding or polishing the surface of a glass workpiece. The abrasive article (10) for grinding glass has abrasive composites (11) containing agglomerates having diamond particles, and optionally other abrasive particles. The abrasive composites (11) are integrally molded to a backing (14). The abrasive articles (10), when used to grind glass, provides a high stock removal rate but provides a smooth surface finish. Lubricant can be used to improve the grinding characteristics of the abrasive article.
