PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophoretic particle that can exhibit both excellent dispersion capability and movement capability in an electrophoretic dispersion liquid, provide a method of producing an electrophoretic particle that can manufacture the electrophoretic particle that can exhibit the capabilities, and provide an electrophoretic dispersion liquid, an electrophoretic sheet, an electrophoretic apparatus and an electronic apparatus which are obtained by using the electrophoretic particle and have high credibility.SOLUTION: An electrophoretic particle 1 includes a base particle 2, and a coating layer 3 covering at least part of the base particle 2, and the coating layer 3 includes a polymer 33 comprising a silane coupling agent 31 having a polymerization initiating group coupled to the surface of the base particle 2, and a polymerization part 32 made by the polymerization of a monomer by living radical polymerization with the polymerization initiating group as a starting point. In the polymer 33, the degree of coupling to the surface of the base particle 2 is 0.01 chain/nmor more and 0.1 chain/nmor less. |
