PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate specification of a term of guarantee by letting a master unit store the day and time of beginning to use even if the date and time information of a slave unit is transferred to a master unit under a state where a circuit class is set. SOLUTION: A master unit 1 includes a clock section 17 which can set the date and time, and a section 13 for setting a class of a telephone line to be connected by automatic identification or operation at an operation display section 12. When the date and time of the clock section 17 is set by operation at the operation display section 12 or transferring date and time information from a slave unit 2 under a state where a circuit class is set, a section 16 for setting the day and time of beginning to use lets a flash memory in a memory section 18 store the current date and time indicated at the clock section 17 as the day and time of beginning to use. In this regards, data indicating whether the day and time of beginning to use has been stored or not is stored in the flash memory so that the day and time of beginning to use is not rewritten when it has been stored already.
