PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a columnar electrophotographic toner which excels in cleaning property and transfer efficiency, achieves high image quality under a small deposition amount and substantially avoids toner degradation and carrier contamination, and an image forming apparatus and a process cartridge using the toner. SOLUTION: In the columnar toner particles, toner particles having an aspect ratio of 0.20-0.70 and a maximum length larger than an average maximum length are allowed to exist in a rate of content of 25-60% by number of pieces.
