PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems when an electrolytic capacitor having a sealing plate using a rubber-laminated paper phenol insulating plate is used particularly at a high temperature, the problems being such that: when an ionic substance-blocking resin film is laminated and adhered integrally on the inner surface of the insulating plate of the sealing plate, impurities such as chlorine flow out from the side surface of the sealing plate, the case where a (co)polymer of ethylene, propylene or ethylene and propylene is used as the resin film has a limit to the thermal resistance, and a polyphenylene sulfide film has thermal resistance and solvent resistance, but cannot completely remove chlorine ions as a synthesis by-product; and that when a rubber molding is provided on the inner surface and the side surface of the insulating plate of the sealing plate, a plasticizer and an antiaging agent contained in the rubber molding are liable to elute in an electrolytic solution and the rubber molding has a drawback in solvent resistance. SOLUTION: In the electrolytic capacitor having the sealing plate 4 using the rubber-laminated paper phenol insulating plate 5, and an external terminal 8 penetrating through the sealing plate, a phenol resin molded body covers from the bottom surface to the side surface of the sealing plate 4.
