The apparatus includes light sensitive cells provided by an recording chip (14) forming a sensor field. An image window (5) masks the sensor field and screens the surroundings of the sensor field especially against infrared radiation. Preferably, the image recording chip is a CMOS sensor with logarithmic convertible light sensitive cells. The image window is arranged at the end of the body of a tube (1) which is turned to the imaging plane. The tube chamber encloses the optical path of the recording lens at the image side.
