PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle seat furnished with a height lock device operating reliably without requiring space. SOLUTION: A height device 10 consisting of a link mechanism is installed between a body side plate 6 attached to the body and a seat cushion 1 of a vehicle seat so as to make height adjustment of the vehicle seat any as desired, and a guide plate 42 is mounted on the seat cushion 1, and to the guide plate 42, a rack gear plate 60 mounted on the body side plate 6 is installed in such a way as movable linearly, and the guide plate 42 is furnished with a pair of lock plates 52 to be engaged with a pair of lock engaging grooves 65 in the rack gear plate 60 when a load in emergency is applied to a seat belt 30 of an occupant, wherein the lock engaging grooves 65 are formed in such an arrangement that the engaging surface 67A of one groove 65A and the engaging surface 67A of the other groove 65B are dislocated half the pitch P in the phase from each other.
