PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cigarette butt container intended to obviate such cumbersomenesses as to carry a cigarette butt receiver holding polluted water in cleaning the container and separate cigarette butts from water and also wash the receiver, a cage and/or a draining floor so as to simplify the cleaning work for the container. SOLUTION: This cigarette butt container is so designed that, the interior of the body case 10 is furnished with a receptacle-like cigarette butt receiver 13 just under a cigarette butt charge port 11b so as to be turnable upside down around a shaft 16, a receptacle-like sheet receiver 14 is set up under the cigarette butt receiver 13 so as to be removable from the body case 10 a water- impermeable sheet 15 is laid inside the sheet receiver 14 and a highly water- absorptive polymer 20 is placed on the sheet 15. When this cigarette butt container is to be used, extinguishing water (w) is put into the cigarette butt receiver 13; when this container is to be cleaned, the receiver 13 is turned upside down and cigarette butts (a) accumulated therein are transferred, together with polluted water(w), onto the water-impermeable sheet 15 to effect absorption of the polluted water (w) into the polymer 20 followed by discarding the resultant polymer 20 together with the sheet 15.
