PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To rewrite software of a servo drive without requiring a dedicated connector such as a flash writer. SOLUTION: The servo drive 100 includes a signal processing circuit (ASIC) 2 having an AB-phase encoder interface 2a for taking in A-phase and B-phase signals from a pulse encoder; and a CPU 1 having a flash memory 1a therein and sending and receiving the signals to and from the signal processing circuit 2. A program writing module 3 is connected to the encoder interface 2a and the servo drive 100 is powered so that the signal processing circuit 2 determines that the writing module 3 is connected according to the state of the AB-phase. In response to a command from the writing module 3, the CPU 1 is caused to write on the internal flash memory 1a and to provide a writing voltage. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
