<p>An embodiment of the present invention relates to controlling the operation of a lighting unit by monitoring whether the lighting unit used in a reading room is being used. The method for controlling a lighting unit based on a signal from a user sensor (34) to detect a user′s absence comprises the steps of: checking that a lighting unit is turned on; detecting a user′s absence by the user sensor; checking that the user is absent; and turning off the lighting unit when the user is absent.</p> |
