PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a decoder and a decoding method capable of outputting a decoded video in a state of no disturbance and no frame omission, even when switching is performed between different formats.SOLUTION: A decoder 1 has an analysis section 10 for recognizing the PID of coded video data, filters 11, 12 for filtering the coded video data by PID, decode section 13 for decoding the coded video data, and a scaler section 14 for expanding and contracting a video outputted from the decode section 13. The analysis section 10 sets a PID after switching for the filters 11, 12 before inputting the coded video data after switching the video format, and the decode section 13 controls expansion and contraction in the scaler section 14 in synchronism with the input timing thereto.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
