The present invention relates to a mobile terminal having a side display unit and a control method thereof. The control method of the mobile terminal having a display on a front surface and a side surface comprises: a step of sensing user input applied to a display unit including a first area arranged on the front surface and a second area arranged on a rear surface; a step of detecting an area, to which the user input is applied, in the second area; a step of executing a function associated with the detected area; and a step of displaying an execution screen of the executed function on at least a part of the first area, corresponding to the detected area. The purpose of the present invention is to improve sensing accuracy of user input applied to a side display unit. |
