PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas sensor element that includes a first electrode having oxygen permeability and a first lead having oxygen non-permeability connected to the first electrode, and comes into a state capable of appropriately detecting NOx concentration in gas to be measured in a short time without reducing the oxygen pump performance of the first electrode.SOLUTION: A first electrode 133 includes: an exposed section 133b to be exposed to a second measurement chamber 160; and a connection section 133d that is disposed at a position being not exposed to the second measurement chamber 160, is connected to a first lead 137, and is disposed at a position most separate from the second measurement chamber 160, in the first electrode 133. The whole connection section 133d is disposed within a region A1 that is separate from the second measurement chamber 160 by 1.0 mm or less. |
