ANODE MATERIAL FOR LITHIUM SECONDARY BATTERY AND LITHIUM SECONDARY BATTERY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium ion secondary battery which realizes increase in initial charge and discharge efficiency without deteriorating charge and discharge characteristics compared with a conventional technology.

SOLUTION: This is a carbon material in which the surface interval d002 of a carbon 002 face obtained by an X-ray diffraction device is 0.340 nm or more and 0.370 nm or less, and the ratio V1/V2 value of a pore volume (V1) of the pore diameter 1 nm or more and less than 10 nm and the pore volume (V2) of the pore diameter 10 nm or more and less than 100 nm is 0.2 or less. The lithium ion secondary battery using the carbon material as an anode active material is provided.
