PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control apparatus for a machine tool that can shorten a warm-up operation by carrying out warm-up operation from which a wasteful operation is omitted.SOLUTION: A control apparatus for a machine tool is provided which controls a machine tool by driving a motor in accordance with processing programs to make a spindle and a feed screw movable and comprises thermal displacement state calculation means for calculating a thermal displacement state of the machine tool, memory means for calculating the thermal displacement state that the thermal displacement is saturated by the thermal displacement state calculation means, and for memorizing the same as a target thermal displacement state, warm-up operation action decision means for deciding a motor warm-up operation so as to approximate the target thermal displacement state, motor drive means for driving the motor in accordance with the warm-up operation action, and motor stop means for calculating the thermal displacement state at an arbitrary point of time to compare the same with the target thermal displacement state, and for stopping the motor drive means when the calculated thermal displacement state is coincident with the target thermal displacement state. |
