<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air cell cushion for supporting a back surface by which the decubitus occurring on the back surface of a seated person can effectively be prevented. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Respective cushions 10, 20, and 30 as cushions for supporting the back surface are provided with: respective small air cells 11, 21, and 31 for supporting the vicinities of the sacrum, the lumbar spine, and the thoracic spine in the back surface of the seated person; detection means for detecting that the crushed amounts of the respective small air cells 11, 21, and 31 are not less than a predetermined amount; and a pump 50 and respective electromagnetic valves 60 for adjusting air amounts in respective air cells 11, 12, 21, 22, 31, and 32. Consequently, it is easily and reliably detected that the crushed amount of each small air cell 11, 21, or 31 for supporting the vicinity of the sacrum, the lumbar spine, or the thoracic spine are not less than the predetermined amount.
