Provided herein are methods, compositions and kits for reducing or preventing excessive sebum production and/or excretion by a subject. The method includes administering a composition comprising a peptide that can modulate neurotransmitter release such as acetyl hexapeptide-8 RT001, Vialox®, Leuphasyl®, Syn®-Ake, and any combination thereof. The method can include topical administration of the composition. Also provided herein are methods, compositions and kits for treating or preventing a condition associated with sebum overproduction or excessive excretion, including seborrhea and acne. |
