PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of acquiring nucleated erythrocyte candidate cells, which allows for reliably acquiring the nucleated erythrocyte candidate cells one by one from a substrate, and a nucleated erythrocyte candidate cell smear substrate.SOLUTION: Disclosed is a method of acquiring nucleated erythrocyte candidate cells including; a concentration step for concentrating nucleated erythrocytes in maternal blood by means of density-gradient centrifugation; a concentration adjustment step for adjusting erythrocyte concentration in a portion of the maternal blood containing nucleated erythrocytes concentrated in the concentration step; a smearing step for smearing a first substrate with the portion adjusted in the concentration adjustment step; a candidate cell identification step for identifying nucleated erythrocyte candidate cells in the portion smeared on the first substrate; and an acquisition step for acquiring the nucleated erythrocyte candidate cells from the first substrate. The erythrocyte concentration in the portion is adjusted to 1.0×10to 8.0×10erythrocytes per 1 mL, inclusive, in the concentration adjustment step. Also disclosed is a nucleated erythrocyte candidate cell smear substrate that is produced by using the above method and features an average center-to-center distance between the erythrocyte cells of 30-160 μm, inclusive.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
