<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a device small in size and light in weight, and also, to attain the reduction of chromatic aberration, as to a beam shaping element for shaping laser light having an elliptical cross section to laser light having a circular cross section. <P>SOLUTION: The beam shaping lens 4 as the beam shaping element for shaping the laser light having the elliptical cross section to the light having the circular cross section is constituted by arranging a refractive lens 6 constituted of a cylindrical surface curving to the incident side of the laser light having the elliptical cross section and a diffraction lens arranged facing the refractive lens 6 and constituted of a diffraction grating parallel to the cylindrical direction of the cylindrical surface of the refractive lens 6. Then, the beam shaping lens 4 becomes small in size, and then, the device can be made small in size and light in weight as compared with such the case where a prism etc., is installed in the device, and also, the chromatic aberration can be reduced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
