PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect the state of wear of a surface layer of a pressure roller with a simple configuration.SOLUTION: There is provided a fixing device 20 comprising: a fixing belt 3 that is a rotating body heated by a heating roller 1 including a heater 8; and a pressure member that is arranged to be able to press at least part of the fixing belt 3 and forms a fixing nip part N with the fixing belt 3, the fixing device conveying a recording medium P carrying an unfixed toner image to the fixing nip part N to fix the unfixed toner image to the recording medium P, wherein the pressure member is a pressure roller 4 including a conductive surface layer and an insulating elastic layer beneath the surface layer, and includes electrodes 6a and 6b that are in contact with the surface layer in a non-paper feed area on both ends in the axial direction of the pressure roller 4, and a resistance value measurement part 52 that measures the value of resistance between the electrodes 6a and 6b.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
