A control system for work machines traveling in an operating area, said control system comprising: position detection means that detect the positions of the work machines; a non-contact sensor that detects the positions of objects in the vicinity of the work machines; and a control unit that extracts detected object information from the detection results of the position detection means and the non-contact sensor, and excludes moving object information, which represents detected objection information concerning moving objects moving in the operating area, from the detected object information.
