The cap is for a necked bottle and to administer a dose the cap is removed, after filling the cylinder, but a side passage may lead through the side wall of the cylinder so that the piston can be operated without removing the cap from the bottle. After filling the bottle with the liq. to be used, the assembly is pivoted through 180 degrees. The piston is withdrawn so that the cylinder is filled with liq. and the assembly is brought back to its original position. If the liq. is a medicament it can be introduced directly into the patient's mouth. The cap. is completed by a cover which may be screwed into position or may be a sliding fit. |
