<p>Moist, ungelled, foamed rubber latex with viscosity >=10,000 cP is moulded by (a) contacting the foam layer, before any skin has formed on its surface, with a wax coated mould having projections sepd. by a distance of >=0.31 cm. (b) at least partly curing the foam as it is in contact with the mould, while heating the mould and the foam to a temp. above the m.p. of the wax, (c) removing the mould from the foam layer when it is sufficiently coherent to retain its moulded shape, and (d) completing the cure of the foam layer. The latex contains a thickening agent. The moulded foam layer does not adhere to the mould. High quality moulded foamed rubber latex is obtd.</p> |
