The brightness control, for a c.r.T. with electrostatic deflection, has the c.r.t.'s electrode (b) that determines the spot's brightness connected over a transistor switch (T) to a voltage divider's (R1, R5, R2) tapping (P4). An electro-optical coupler (OK) is connected to the transistor switch's base circuit and controls its conduction. The transistor's operating point is chosen so that two control voltages turn it on and off and thereby alter the spot's brightness from dark to light respectively. The voltage divider is connected between two reference voltages. The advantage of the circuit lies in its simplicity.
|
