The drum of a centrifuge partic. for further treatment of still-fluid filter slurries, has outlet orifices near its ends. A tube extending into the filter drum is concentric with the drum and can be moved in the axial direction to-and-fro along the entire length of the part of the cylindrical drum surface which is in the form of a filter. The tube encloses >=2 feed passages connected to inlet orifices, and carries a scraper-disc perpendicular to its axis. The edge of the disc forms a narrow annular gap with the filter section of the drum. Used for further drying of filter slurries to form a powder which can be more easily removed and dumped. The centrifuge is continuous in operation and has a high throughput. |
