PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording device being capable of preventing dripping of ink from a sheet end portion while suppressing an installation number of sheet detection means.SOLUTION: A recording device comprises: a recording head comprising a plurality of nozzles discharging liquid onto a medium in a transportation direction of the medium; and a plurality of medium detection means being provided closer to a downstream side than the recording head in a transportation path transporting the medium and detecting passing of the medium. The plurality of medium detection means includes: first medium detection means; and second medium detection means. When a path length from a nozzle positioned at a transportation most downstream side of the medium out of the plurality of nozzles to the first medium detection means is represented by X, specified time for the medium to advance from the first medium detection means to the second medium detection means is represented by T and a maximum distance of the liquid flowing toward a leading end on the medium when the liquid is discharged at a position inside with the distance X from the leading end of the medium at a predetermined duty value for the time T is represented by Y, the second medium detection means is provided at a position satisfying X≥Y.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7 |
