<p>Improved plastic-loop packing elements (10) of the type intended for use in promoting gas/liquid and liquid/liquid contact processes in absorption towers and the like comprising an approximation of a filamentous toroidal helical shape. A process and tower using the elements are also claimed. The improved packing comprises spline web means (18) connecting adjacent loop members (14) and a centerpost structure (15), which control the amount of circumferential interlocking and provide minimal nesting, respectively.</p> |
