PURPOSE:To obtain a cylinder having a comparatively long stroke, while having the smallest length of the cylinder at its contracted stage, by arranging multiplex cylinders in a telescopic system to have their diameters increased from the center part toward outer section. CONSTITUTION:The cylinder 1 having the smallest diameter is placed in the center part, and cylinders 2 having a larger diameter are engaged with the both ends of the cylinder 1 in a telescopic system which has sequentially widening diameters. Then the cylinders 3, 4 having the largest diameter are engaged with the both extreme ends. The fluid outlets/inlets (a), (b) and (b') of each cylinder 1-4 are connected to each other by the piping (c), (c'). It makes the length comparatively small at the contracted stage whereas the extended length is long, therefore, installation space can be reduced.
