PURPOSE:To enable stable driving of an automobile, by adapting speed change signals to be output based on the speed change patterns corresponding to the speeds of the automobile and the engine loads as well as the speed change pattern to be varied depending on the altitudes. CONSTITUTION:Signals from speed detecting means 1, engine load detecting means 2, and altitude detecting means 3 are input to control means 4, whereby speed change signals based on the speed change patterns corresponding to the speeds and engine loads are output to the automatic speed change apparatus 5, and, at the same time, the speed change pattern is varied by the changes in the altitude signals. Thus, it can be made possible for a proper speed change pattern to be automatically provided depending on the altitude if the altitude of the automobile changes. Hence, driving conditions concerning the acceleration, etc. desired by the driver can be provided and a stable driving can be attained even if the automobile runs on high and low lands. |
