PURPOSE:To enable staggering in printing position to be corrected, by a method wherein when a printing head does not reach a reference position over a plurality of lines, the head is scanningly moved to the reference position for each preset number of lines, and a reference position is reset. CONSTITUTION:Printing data supplied from a data-inputting part 9 are stored into a buffer memory 10, and a controlling part 8 scanningly move the printing head 1 in the line direction by a driver 7 and a motor 3 while referring to and renewing a head position parameter stored in a memory part 8d. Where the printing data have such a construction that the head 1 reaches the reference position for printing, the printing position is confirmed or reset each time the head reaches the reference position. Although printing is continued without reaching of the head to the reference position in a certain construction so as to enhance printing efficiency, there is possibility of entanglement of the printing paper or the like. Therefore, when it is detected by a detector 5 that the head has reached the reference position, a line number N is set in the memory part 8d, and when the number of lines printed reaches N, the head 1 is moved to the reference position, and the reference position is confirmed and reset. |
