PURPOSE:To produce flame-retardant resin foam, by crosslinking a composition consisting of a resin component comprising a specific ethylene-vinyl acetate- carbon monoxide terpolymer as a main component, a metallic oxide hydrate, a halogenated flame-retardant, and a chemical blowing agent of thermal decomposition type by ionizing radiation, and forming it under heating. CONSTITUTION:(A) 100pts.wt. resin component comprising 20-100wt% ethylene- vinyl acetate-carbon monoxide terpolymer having 2-15wt% carbon monoxide content, 0.1-40g/10min melt index (MI) and 0.96-1.2g/cm<3>, and another thermoplastic resin, preferably a linear low-density polyethylene having 0.2-20g/10min MI and 0.9-0.93g/cm<3> density is blended with (B) 70-300pts.wt. metallic oxide hydrate, preferably aluminum hydroxide, (C) 10-40pts.wt. halogenating agent, preferably decabromodiphenyl ether, and (D) 10-50pts.wt. chemical blowing agent of heat decomposition type, crosslinked by ionizing radiation (preferably electron rays), and expanded under heating. |
