There is described a system for supporting a blade (104, 204, 304, 404, 504, 604, 704) for a wind turbine, in particular a wind turbine blade having a curved portion (306, 706). The described system comprises a first support arrangement (101, 301, 401) comprising (a) a root support element (110, 310, 510) adapted to support a root portion (105, 305, 405, 505) of the blade such that the root portion is rotatable about a longitudinal axis of the blade, and (b) a root elevation element (112, 512) adapted to adjust a vertical position of the root support element (110, 310, 510). Further, there is described a transport vehicle for transporting a blade (104, 204, 304, 404, 504, 604, 704) for a wind turbine. The described transport vehicle comprises (a) a front platform (334, 434), (b) a rear platform (333, 433, 633), and (c) a system as described above, wherein the first support arrangement (101, 301, 401) is mounted at the front platform (334, 434), and the second support arrangement (202, 302) is mounted at the rear platform (333, 433, 633). Furthermore, a method of transporting a wind turbine blade having a curved portion is described. |
