PURPOSE:To omit an explosion-proof facility of a warehouse by taking an engine out of the warehouse, inspecting with a test device, attaching a transmission immediately to a passed engine, sending them to a body assembly line, and removing a rejected engine. CONSTITUTION:An assembled engine and an assembled transmission are respectively carried by transport conveyers 11 and 12, transferred to store-in conveyers 7 and 8, and housed by means of running cranes 5 and 6 in specified positions of space racks 3 and 4 assorted by vehicle versions in warehouses 1 and 2. The engine is then taken out of the warehouse by means of a crane 5 and transported to a test device 14 by means of a takeout conveyer 9, transport conveyer 13 sand carry-in conveyer 15. An engine which has passed the test is taken out 16, attached 17 with a transmission taken out 10, 18 of the warehouse 2, and transported 23 to be mounted on a vehicle body 25. An engine which has not passed the test is taken out 19 and a replacement engine is sent out 20. Thus, an explosion-proof structure of the engine warehouse is made unnecessary to reduce the equipment cost.
