PURPOSE:To make a gear type transmission in a compact size by adding a small-sized speed up gear set to which torque of an output gear of the top step is input to be transmitted to an output shaft of a transmission. CONSTITUTION:A superoverdrive step sixth speed gear train 30 to which only torque of the fifth speed output gear 15b is input is disposed in the rear of the fifth speed gear set 15. When the fourth clutch 37 is engaged with the sixth speed output gear 35b by switching a change lever, torque of the fifth speed output gear 15b is transmitted to an output shaft 5. Accordingly the gear train 30 transmits only torque of the fifth speed output gear to the output shaft 5 so as to make a transmission in a compact size.
