PURPOSE:To make an exciting transformer unnecessary by constituting an exciting power winding by connecting a plurality of axially split exciting power winding units in parallel. CONSTITUTION:Exciting power windings 2A are provided in stator slots 1 of a synchronous generator separately from a stator winding to take out an exciting power. Said exciting power windings 2A are arranged so as to surround stator tees 3 to be interlinked with magnetic flux generated by a rotor. In this case, the exciting power winding 2A is formed by parallel connection of a plurality of axially split exciting power winding units 2a, 2b, 2c. Thus, a current density of said exciting power winding 2A is made small and an exciting transformer can be made unnecessary.
