PURPOSE:To completely remove foreign matter such as developer and paper dust by executing cleaning by a cleaner which is actuated cooperatively with the releasing and pressurized contact actions of a blade releasing mechanism of a cleaning blade and slides on the pressurized contact end edge part of the cleaning blade. CONSTITUTION:The cleaning mechanism has the blade releasing mechanism which releases the pressurized contact state of the cleaning blade 63 and the blade cleaning mechanism which removes the foreign matter sticking to the pressurized contact end edge of the cleaning blade 63. The blade cleaning mechanism is formed of the cleaner 67 which slides on the pressurized contact end edge of the cleaning blade 63 cooperatively with the releasing and pressurized contact actions of the blade releasing mechanism. Namely, the cleaner 67 is slid on the pressurized contact end edge of the cleaning blade 63 cooperatively with the releasing and pressurized contact actions of the blade releasing mechanism. The foreign matter is completely removed from the surface of the cleaning blade 63 by the scraping effect based on the sliding and rubbing actions of the cleaner 67 of this time. |
