PURPOSE:To perform bonding which, when subjected to thermal deterioration at high temperatures, does not undergo any decrease in its bonding strength and is excellent in durability by using a process for bonding a hydrogenated nitrile rubber of a degree of hydrogenation above a specified value to a fiber, wherein the fiber is succeedingly pretreated with three specified treatment solutions. CONSTITUTION:A process for bonding a hydrogenated nitrile rubber of a degree of hydrogenation of 80% or above to a fiber (e.g. polyester fiber), wherein the fiber is pretreated with the first treatment solution containing a polyepoxide compound or/and a polyisocyanate compound (e.g. diphenylmethane diisocyanate), then with the second treatment solution of a resorcinol/formalin/rubber latex, and further with the third treatment solution prepared by dissolving a (hydrogenated) nitrile rubber and a chlorinated rubber in an organic solvent. The treated fiber is adhered to an unvulcanized hydrogenated nitrile rubber and vulcanized to perform bonding between the hydrogenated nitrile rubber and the fiber. |
