A description is given of a transmission, in particular a power-shift transmission, with four forward gears and at least one reverse gear of a gear-change transmission part for the selective setting of a plurality of forward and reverse gear transmission ratios, and with at least three ranges of an auxiliary transmission part for the selective setting of a first, second or third auxiliary transmission ratio. By means of clutches it is possible selectively to connect any gear in series with any auxiliary range, it thereby being possible to set 16 different forward transmission ratios and four reverse transmission ratios. In order to obtain optimum spacing between the gears in combination with smooth, low-noise changing, which is associated with a high transmission efficiency, it is proposed to make the spacings between two adjacent transmission ratios for the first range (PTO range) and the third range (transport range) approximately twice as large as the spacings between two adjacent transmission ratios for the second range (main operating range). <IMAGE> |
