PURPOSE:To obtain the subject composition remarkably excellent in mechanical properties, especially impact resistance as well as flame-retardancy by compounding a thermoplastic aromatic polyester with a specific modified polyolefin and a bromine-containing flame-retardant. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition is produced by compounding (A) 100 pts.wt. of a thermoplastic aromatic polyester having an intrinsic viscosity of 0.4-1.2 with (B) 3-30 pts.wt. of a modified polyolefin produced by the graft- polymerization of 0.01-30wt.% of a glycidyl compound of formula I (R is H or 1-6C alkyl; Ar is 6-20C aromatic hydrocarbon group having glycidyloxy group; (n) is 1-4) to 100wt.% of a polyolefin and (C) 0.5-25 pts.wt. of a bromine- containing flame-retardant. The component A is preferably polybutylene terephthalate and the component C is preferably a brominated bisphenol A epoxy resin of formula II ((h) is 0-50), etc. |
